Valley Williamsport

Every year on July 4th, the Town of Williamsport hosts a concert event and fireworks display in Byron Memorial Park! Generally, the event starts in the afternoon, continuing into the evening hours leading up to the Grand Fire Works Display. There are concessions for sale, musical entertainment and a special, patriotic performance by the Williamsport Community Band in the Bandstand. Before the Community Band performs, there is a short ceremony where we honor our country with the presentation of colors by the Harpers Ferry Honor Guard. Families and members of the community are encouraged to bring their chairs, blankets and even pop up shelters to enjoy the festivities.

The “Guild” formed when several of the founding members were taking watercolor classes and formed a bond and friendship and decided to continue that friendship in a group dedicated to emerging artists providing a place to widen their artistic abilities as well as to display their work.

The Guild is made up of approximately 20 members, mostly from the Eastern Panhandle area. Our current artists paint in watercolor, oils, acrylics, pastels and other mediums.
